Sigtuna

Sigtuna, a lessor know place in the capital of Scandinavia! About 45 mins drive from Stockholm or 30 mins from Arlanda International airport, this small town is peaceful, clean and green. Thanks to my job, I had the privilege to be in Sweden and explore this vintage European town.

I arrived there at the Sigtuna bus station from Arlanda Airport. The bus ride was beautiful with lush green farm lands on both sides of the road. Just across the street is this old church,St Olof's Church.

St Olof's Church is well maintained with beautiful gardens.

The picture above is of a garden in  St Olof's Church's. It is so peaceful here, it makes you forget all your worries.

Heading south towards the lake is this green lawn with lake in the background. Stunning canvas!

You can spend hours by the lake just doing nothing! Its heavenly. It it quite, pure air, birds chirping! You can't get more close to nature.

Folks enjoying stories!

As I walked along the sides of the river, I saw some wild life in the water. Not fish, ducks!I keep repeating this place is beautiful and underrated as a tourist attraction.

It was about 3 pm in the afternoon on August 8 2014 and the weather conditions were so beautiful with ample natural sunlight, that I couldn't resist taking a pic of myself. Local people are very kind and one of them gladly obliged to take my pic. It turned out beautiful. I think I'll keep this as my facebook dp for a while.

This is by far my favorite spot along the lake. You can enjoy the mild sun, beautiful view of lake and mountains and perhaps music if someone is playing! Like this dude playing guitar while getting a tan.

As I headed uphill towards the town and shopping streets, I couldn't resist having a second look at the lake. Tall houses down sloping terrain and lake in far end. Life must be beautiful here.

Houses in Sigtuna are brightly colored, with every detail highlighted. Be it windows or rooftops

Or just fence! Vibrant, aren't they?

Clean streets and tall houses add to the charm of this town.

Shopping streets at a not so busy time of the day!

Bright and colorful cloth pieces for sale!

Exploring further I found this fruit shop. Everything is organised and labelled so you don't have to disturb the shopkeeper.

Fruits, Delicious looking fruits.

This is the old town hall. Again in a very quite and peaceful neighborhood.

A simple sign board caught my attention. Black slate with clean design in white. Not loud and annoying advertisement. I liked it.

I stayed here till it was dark in the evening. Didn't feel like leaving. A day well spent!
